Galvin's Meals on Wheels
The Galvin gastronomic sporting-cum-dining lunch will be held on
Wednesday, 11th August. The idea is to make the most of the Boris bike
ranks now located just by each of the Galvin restaurants in London, by
beginning at midday at Galvin La Chapelle in the City for a starter,
then heading by bike to the Galvin Bistrot de Luxe on Baker Street for
a main course, and then on to Michelin-starred Galvin at Windows (Park
Lane) for dessert and Champagne. The menu will include oysters, pig's
trotter, steak and soufflé.
The small group (we're anticipating it'll be around 4-6 diners) will
be led by Chris Galvin, who will be cycling and Galvin at Windows' GM,
Fred Sirieix who will be racing Chris around the course by foot, to
see if running is faster. Sara Galvin and her team will ensure that all diners are registered for Boris bikes, and that bikes are found at
the start of each leg of the journey, and docked at the end.
Funds raised from this event will all go through the Hilton in the Community Foundation to support Galvin's Chance. For your chance to support please make a donation.
The Mayfair Park and Tower Race is the principal fundraiser for the Galvin's Chance programme. The race incorporates a unique 4.5km run around Hyde Park's Serpentine Lake followed by a gruelling tower run up 28 floors to the top of the London Hilton on Park Lane. Participants are required to raise a minimum of £250 sponsorship for the race with all net profits supporting Galvin's Chance.
